Rhomobile has taken the wraps off Rhodes 2, an updated version of its smartphone app development framework. Aimed primarily at enterprise applications, Rhodes 2 will make it easier for ERP and CRM vendors to create versions of their software that run natively on any mobile OS. The update also supports native styling and MapConnect.
One other big change: Rhodes is now open source under the MIT license and available for free. However, the company does still offer a paid enterprise license for customers that require commercial support.
