At the GigaOm Mobilize conference, a panel of investors predicted that the interest in app development would continue for the foreseeable future. Venture capitalists are intrigued by the new landscape where just a couple of people with an idea can build an app worth $10 million. “And there’s no question it’ll keep snowballing,” said panelist Matt Murphy. “Everybody’s just so excited that one or two people can develop whatever they want.”
Timothy Chang, Principal with Norwest Venture Partners, predicted companies that could improve the way apps are distributed will be the next big thing. “When there are new distribution landscapes, distribution of content is god almighty,” he said.
