Developers: Don’t Bet on Mobile Ad Revenue to Pay the Bills

Jupiter Research has just released a new report that predicts the mobile ad industry will be worth $894 million by 2015. While that’s a lot of money, the report says app downloads and in-app spending will earn developers ten times as much.


Researchers at several firms say that developers who embrace the “freemium” model—offering apps for free then up-selling users on additional functionality—are likely to see very good revenues.
