According to Diffbot co-founder Mike Tung, “The entire Internet can be broken down into 30 different page types.” The Diffbot tool uses bots, algorithms, computer vision and artificial intelligence to see each of those 30 different page types the way humans would. Now those tools are available for free to developers who want to create apps that automatically figure out what’s important on a page and package it in a new way for users.
Diffbot has released two new APIs: an On-Demand API which analyzes home pages and articles to extract important content and a Follow API which tracks changes to any Web page. The APIs are free for up to 500,000 calls, $500 for up to 100,000 calls, and $0.002 per call after that.
