Over 54% of Mobile Web Traffic Comes from iOS

According to NetApplications statistics for September, 54.65 percent of mobile Web traffic comes from iOS devices. That figure is somewhat surprising because although the iPad dominates the tablet market, more than 50 percent of all smartphones run Android, not iOS.

In fact, Android is in third place for mobile Web traffic, with 16.26 percent of the market, behind Java ME with 18.52 percent. Nokia’s Symbian (6.12 percent) and RIM (3.29 percent) round out the top five.
