Microsoft has announced the availability of a beta version of its Amazon Web Services Software Development Kit (SDK) for Windows Phone. According to a press release, “This SDK provides developers with a speed dial that lets them quickly connect and integrate Windows Phone applications with AWS (S3, SimpleDB, and SQS Cloud Services).”
For mobile development pros that have been using Amazon’s cloud computing services to support apps for other platforms, the SDK will also make it easier to port those apps for Windows Phone.
The SDK is available under an open source license. Microsoft has not said when a general availability version might become available.
