Amazon Debuts AWS Marketplace

Amazon has launched the AWS Marketplace, a new way for customers to find and deploy software on the company’s cloud computing services. The Marketplace features applications from a wide-variety of vendors, such as 10gen, IBM, Microsoft and SAP, as well as leading open-source applications like WordPress and Drupal. Using Amazon’s “one-click deployment” features, customers can easily launch these applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and pay according to their use.

Amazon’s Terry Hanold explained that the store offers “a wide variety of AWS ecosystem providers’ solutions, in one place, where much of the work involved in building and deploying solutions on top of AWS has already been done for you by these solutions providers.”
