When Apple first released iOS 6, the update lacked a noteworthy feature from iOS 5: the ability to give apps as gifts. Now, just in time for the holidays, Apple has added gifting back in to the mobile operating system. Any iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch user can now buy apps from the App Store for any other Apple device user. The feature includes the ability to specify which day the gift app should be delivered.
Developers do not need to do anything to their apps to enable the gifting capabilities.
