GitHub Enterprise 2.5 Targets Massive Development Teams

Although GitHub is best known for its free hosting service that is popular with open source projects, the company also offers a paid code-hosting platform for enterprises. New features in the code repository tool include clustering, protected branches and a caching technique that improves performance when many developers attempt to pull a branch at the same time.

Several GitHub competitors, including GitLab and Atlassian, have also recently updated their enterprise revision control solutions.
