Google Buys AI Startup Moodstocks

The large tech companies are continuing to gobble up startups focused on artificial intelligence and machine learning. Google has purchased Moodstocks, a Paris-based startup that offers image recognition APIs and SDKs for mobile development. The news comes just two weeks after Twitter announced that it had acquired a similar startup called Magic Pony.

Moodstocks has announced that its development tools will be discontinued soon. It added, “Our focus will be to build great image recognition tools within Google, but rest assured that current paying Moodstocks customers will be able to use it until the end of their subscription.”
