IBM has announced its purchase of Gravitant, a privately held cloud brokerage. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Gravitant provides technology that helps enterprises manage their purchases from multiple cloud computing providers, and IBM says it plans to incorporate those capabilities into IBM Cloud.
“Gravitant provides an innovative approach to add choice and simplicity to how enterprises can now manage their environments. It will be a key component as we broaden our hybrid cloud services,” said Martin Jetter, senior vice president for Global Technology Services at IBM.
IBM has been on something of a shopping spree lately, having also purchased The Weather Company and Cleversafe.
