Java Will Get New Updates for ARM

Oracle and ARM have announced that they are working together to update Java for use with ARM processors. That could make Java SE more suitable for use on some embedded systems and in enterprise applications running on ARM-based servers.

Java already runs on ARM systems, but optimizing the code could have many benefits for multi-core systems, such as better performance, scalability and power-savings, as well as faster boot-up times. In addition, it could make Java more attractive for use in the “Internet of Things,” the growing network of machines talking to machines.
