JetBrains Gives DBAs Their Own IDE

Development tool vendor JetBrains has unveiled a new integrated development environment (IDE), but this one isn’t designed for developers. Instead, the tool, called 0xDBE, helps database administrators (DBAs) complete basic SQL development tasks.

0xDBE works with DB2, Derby, H2, HSQLDB, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, SQLite and Sybase, and it runs on Windows, OS X and Linux. Key features include code completion, parameter suggestions, symbol renaming, error detecting and more.

For now, 0xDBE is available through an Early Access Program, but the company plans a general availability release before the end of the year.
