Microsoft Brings Azure, Office 365 to Connected Cars

At the CES 2016 show, Microsoft announced new plans that will allow people to get more work done from their vehicles. “Drivers will be able to access Office 365 services and interact with them through intelligent personal assistant software to schedule meetings, hear and respond to important emails, and make Skype calls when in park, or when on the road in autonomous vehicles,” said Peggy Johnson, executive vice president of business development for Microsoft.

Microsoft is partnering with firms like Nissan, Volvo and IAV to connect its Azure cloud computing service, Band 2 wearables, Office 365, Skype and Windows 10 to cars. The company also demonstrated how enterprises are using Cortana Analytics to help prevent accidents.
