Node.js Comes to Amazon’s Cloud

Amazon Web Services has released a preview version of a new software development kit (SDK) that will allow developers to access Amazon’s cloud computing services from their Node.js applications. The SDK will work with Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon S3 (Simple Storage Service), Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) and the Amazon Simple Workflow Service.

Node.js allows developers to write server-side code in JavaScript. It’s become increasingly popular with JavaScript developers and is currently the second most popular package on GitHub.

The new Amazon SDK is available for free under an open source Apache 2.0 license. Amazon has also posted a guide to the new SDK.
