Red Hat to Certify Containerized Linux Apps

Red Hat already had a certification program for making sure apps run as intended on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL); now it is adding a service that will certify Linux apps that are properly configured to run in a container.

They’re becoming popular as enterprises look for ways to make it easier to move applications from one cloud computing service to another or from a private cloud to a public cloud.

Red Hat’s Marty Wesley said, “We see containers as having the potential to shift how IT is done.”
