Report: Google Quietly Distributing New Version of Glass to Enterprise Developers

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Google has begun quietly giving a new version of its Glass wearable to enterprise software developers. The new device is said to have a button-and-hinge system that allows it to attach to the wearer’s glasses instead of having its own wire frame. Unnamed “people familiar with the matter” told the publication that Google is targeting the device at the health care, manufacturing and energy industries, and that it hopes to have enterprises using Glass by this fall.

The new Glass reportedly has a faster processor, longer battery life, better connectivity and a more adjustable display. They say that Google still plans to release a consumer version of the wearable eventually.
