A new survey of 400 developers from Evans Data finds that on the average, cloud development reduces the time it takes to complete an application by 11.6 percent. “The bottom line is these data appear to show that time savings — efficiency — is one of the key motivators that is driving the adoption of the cloud among developers,” said Evans analyst Ben Hanley.
About 38 percent of developers said that working in the cloud reduces development time by 11 to 20 percent. In addition, 10 percent said the cloud reduces working time by more than 30 percent. However, another 10 percent of developers said the cloud didn’t improve their development times at all.
The survey also found that developers continue to have concerns about cloud security.
