Survey: Users Prefer Native Apps over HTML5

A new survey from Bite Interactive found that a majority of smartphone users prefer native mobile applications to HTML5 apps. More specifically, 66 percent of iPhone users and 63 percent of Android users said they preferred native apps because they make better use of their smartphones’ features. Only 19 percent said they didn’t care if an app was native or HTML5.

The survey also revealed that 19 percent of smartphone owners would not switch to another OS once they have spent $25 on apps. Mobile development also plays a key role in users’ decision to select a particular phone: 69 percent of Android owners and 72 percent of iPhone users say apps were an important reason why they chose their particular devices.
