It’s patently absurd that Apple isn’t smart enough to make their own AI, yet is somehow capable of ensuring that OpenAI will protect your security & privacy!
Apple has no clue what’s actually going on once they hand your data over to OpenAI. They’re selling you down the river.

Elon Musk has publicly criticized Apple over its recent partnership with OpenAI and the introduction of AI features across its apps and operating platforms. In a tweet on Monday, Musk threatened to ban Apple devices at his companies if OpenAI technology is integrated at the operating system level. He called this potential integration an “unacceptable security violation.
Musk slammed the tech giant for relying on OpenAI’s technology.
If Apple integrates OpenAI at the OS level, then Apple devices will be banned at my companies. That is an unacceptable security violation.

It’s personal, powerful, and private—and it’s integrated into the apps you rely on every day.

Musk’s comments came alongside a community note pointing out that Apple has developed its own AI called “Apple Intelligence.” According to the note, ChatGPT, an OpenAI tool, is an additional feature within Apple Intelligence. It is limited to Siri and writing tools, and will require user permission for each use. This is not the first clash between Musk and OpenAI, a company he co-founded in 2015.
Musk criticizes Apple’s AI strategy
In March, Musk sued OpenAI’s CEO Sam Altman. He alleged that the company had strayed from its original mission to develop AI for the benefit of humanity and not for profit.
Musk has also founded his own AI startup, xAI, aiming to provide an alternative to ChatGPT. xAI was valued at $24 billion in its last funding round, raising $6 billion in Series B funding. Apple claims its AI initiatives prioritize privacy, with features designed to keep user data secure.
However, Musk remains unconvinced and has taken a firm stance against the integration of OpenAI technology into Apple devices. Further responses from Apple and OpenAI regarding Musk’s comments are awaited.
