The 2024 event showcased the latest mountain biking technology, featuring a range of prototypes and significant improvements in full-suspension models and lightweight carbon frames. Advanced trail bikes, terrain-focused designs, groundbreaking accessories like fast-charging bike lights, and weather-proof gear bags enthralled attendees.

The event was also a testament to the surge in sustainable solutions. Leading the way was Fox, with their 32-Step-Cast fork. Weighing just 1,287g, this lightweight XC fork offers greater rigidity and improved sensitivity. The reduced weight and innovative features promise better handling and a smoother ride.

Atherton made waves with their economically friendly S-Range alloy bikes.

Spotlight on 2024’s mountain biking innovations

Billed as a sustainable option, these bikes use CNC-machined lugs and high-quality 7075 tubing instead of environmentally taxing 3D-printed titanium lugs and carbon tubes. Starting from £2,799 for a frameset, the S-Range makes high-performance mountain biking more affordable.

Box Components previewed their updated 9-speed drivetrain, boasting an integrated steel cassette and a redesigned rear derailleur. Priced at $700, this upgrade is slated for release later in the year, with a more cost-effective option also coming in the pipeline.

WolfTooth’s RipSaw platform pedals were also making a debut. These pedals are crafted from 6061-T6 alloy and designed for a mid-foot cycling stance. Costing $199, they also come with a whopping five-year warranty.

Praxis was the showstopper of the event, with its Podium Pedals, sophisticated Zayante Crankset, advanced Lyric Chainring, and highly anticipated M30 Bottom Bracket. These audience favorites impressed with their innovative designs, superior craftsmanship, and reasonable pricing.

The 2024 event signaled that mountain biking technology is ready to leap into the future, pointing to an exciting era of innovation, sustainability, and affordability!
