Former President Donald Trump announced on his Truth Social platform that he will be interviewed by Elon Musk, the billionaire CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, and X (formerly Twitter), on Monday night. Trump stated, “ON MONDAY NIGHT I’LL BE DOING A MAJOR INTERVIEW WITH ELON MUSK — Details to follow!”
When Elon does his “major interview” with Trump, any chance he will have the courage to ask him about this? Or about Trump telling people at his rallies that he wants to send all the auto jobs to China? Or about how he says EVs suck and nobody should buy them? pic.twitter.com/4F5SdBxrh7

The announcement comes as Trump seeks to maintain online buzz around his campaign for a second term in the White House. Recently, he hosted internet influencer Adin Ross at his Mar-a-Lago residence.

Musk, who purchased Twitter for $44 billion and renamed it X, has a history of boosting conservative content creators and conspiracy theories on the platform. Trump was banned from Twitter following the January 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol, but his account was reinstated after Musk’s acquisition. Despite this, Trump continues to use Truth Social for his social media messages.
The planned conversation between Trump and Musk occurs amid scrutiny of a Trump-supporting political action committee (PAC) that Musk claims he established.
Interview with Elon Musk
This PAC has come under investigation by the North Carolina Attorney General’s Office and Michigan’s secretary of state for allegedly collecting personal data from website users and failing to help users register to vote as promised.
In recent weeks, Trump has participated in numerous interviews on Fox News and other conservative media outlets. However, he is facing increasing pressure to debate Vice President Kamala Harris, who has expressed her willingness to face off with Trump on September 10 on ABC. Trump has stated he will not debate Harris on ABC, citing what he perceives as the network’s bias against him.
Instead, he proposed that Harris debate him a week earlier at an event hosted by Fox News. Both Trump and Musk have yet to comment further on the details of the upcoming interview, which is set to take place on Monday night. The high-profile conversation is expected to draw significant attention as the 2024 presidential election approaches.
