Adding Fields to Existing Database

Adding Fields to Existing Database

Question:
How do I add new fields to an existing table in an Access 2.0 databasewithout losing data that already exists in the table/database? I knowhow to add fields, (the append method) but doesn’t this corrupt thedata already in the table?

Answer:
You can add fields with absolutely no ill effects to your database integrity. Obviously, if you have code based on the number of the fields in a table, for instance, that would have to change. If you remove a field, the only data you lose is what is in the field. You won’t have a problem with records being messed up because a field is missing.
