Using Tab Control

Using Tab Control

Question:
I have an old DOS-Clipper app that I plan to upgrade to VB. The old app handles insurance claims. To enter a new claim, 4 screens of data are needed to handle all fields. The user may need to go back and forth between forms and the info will need to remain there until they accept the record.Someone advised me to use Sheridan Designer Widgets for this.Is that the best way to go. Any help would be great.

Answer:
That person is right…the common way to do this with the latest controls is to use a tab control. It’s a sneaky way of packing a bunch of controls onto a form. Sheridan isn’t the only tab control, but it’s pretty good. It will actually function like a container and many of the others won’t. I have it myself…however, Sheridan has a bad habit of putting out buggy software. Designer Widgets is pretty stable now…just don’t buy anything new from them.
