Loading Text file into Oracle Lite Table

Loading Text file into Oracle Lite Table

Question:
Is it possible to use the text ODBC driver in OPO v2.0 for this purpose by opening two sessions — one connected to an Olite database while the other is connected to a text file?

Alternatively, are there any available utilities on the market similar to ORACLE SQL Loader to be used with OLite?

Answer:
Yes, it is possible to use the Text ODBC driver for this purpose. You caneven write to a text file with WRITE commands and then view the fileas a Text file ODBC data source.

I don’t know of any utilities on the market for loading text files, but Idescribe how to create your own loading routines, complete with errorhandling, in my latest book Mastering Oracle Power Objects fromO’Reilly & Associates.
