Unable to Update Cursor

Question:
When I try to build an app (.exe) I get the error message “Cannot update the cursor.” All the prg, menu, and forms seem to work (i.e., compile with no errors) OK, but will not make an app or .exe.

What is going on? (I am using Visual FoxPro 5.)

Answer:
The problem you are experiencing often surrounds corruption of the project file. There are two things to try:

  1. Pack the project. Either open the project as a table: 
        USE MYPROJ.PJX   PACK   USE

    Or open the project and choose Project > Clean Up Project from the menu.

  2. Create a new project.
