Forwarding E-mail and Retaining the From Address

Forwarding E-mail and Retaining the From Address

Question:
I have a Microsoft Exchange mailbox and want to have all my e-mail forwarded to a Unix e-mail address. I tried the Forward All Mail feature in Outlook but it doesn’t retain the From address (it replaces it with my Exchange address).

Is there any way to forward e-mail and retain the From address without getting the MS Exchange Server administrator involved?

Answer:
Yes, as a matter of fact there is! In Outlook 2000 they’ve added the Redirect feature to the Rules Wizard?that feature forwards messages but retains the original From address?as if the new address had been cc’d on the original message.

One word, though. You may still have to get your Exchange administrator involved if s/he has the Exchange Server configured to disallow automatic forwards to the Internet.
