Exchange Temp Files

Question:
My Exchange server has two partitions (C and D). There is a file (TEMPDFRAG.EBD) that is on the C drive and is taking up a lot of space.

Is it possible to delete this file or drag it to my other partition? I have run the optimizer and specified that everything be stored on drive D but the working directories won’t change; they stay on C. Any ideas?

Answer:
Sounds like your Exchange defrag process didn’t finish normally. The TEMPDFRAG.EDB file is just a temp file and you can delete it with no ill effects (assuming your machine isn’t currently running a defrag of the Exchange information store, of course).
