Question:
I have some orphaned Exchange mailboxes that are displayed under Private Information Store/Mailbox Resources. How do I remove them if the object is not defined in the DS?
Answer:
- Make sure you have a good and current backup of your Exchange system. I’d get both online and offline backups, personally.
- Make sure you have the most recent version of ISINTEG. You can check Microsoft’s site for the latest version if you don’t already have it.
- Stop your Exchange services and run ISINTEG with the -PRI -FIX switches to have it check and fix your private information store. I’d also advise using the -L ISINTEG.LOG switch in order to get it to record a log file for your review.
Once that’s done you should be able to restart your Exchange services and fix the orphaned mailboxes.
