My Informix usually server starts fine, but when I try to add a database chunk with the onspaces command I get an error (“shared memory not initialized”). Any ideas?
Answer:
Are you using the same login to run the onspaces? Try to run dbaccess from that login. If dbaccess runs correctly, there is a problem somewhere in the installation. I would completely reinstall if possible. Make sure that all of your environmental variables are set properly.
