Outlook Meeting Requests

Outlook Meeting Requests

Question:

  1. Is there a way to turn off meeting requests for a user?
  2. Is there a way to turn off the “feature” that sets a tentative meeting when you open a meeting request without accepting, declining or setting it as tentative?
  3. Is there a way to filter meeting requests to the trash without answering/responding to them?

Answer:
The answer to your first question is yes—just have your CEO threaten to fire anyone who sends meeting requests. Short of that, no.

The answers to your second and third questions are actually the same. Use the Rules Wizard to create a rule that detects messages that used the “Meeting Request” form and moves them to Deleted Items. Then you won’t see or open the meeting requests.

Hopefully, none of them are meetings you’ll need to attend.
