Restoring an Exchange Server

Question:
The BDC was the exchange server, and now it can’t see itself as BDC or a server. It shows on the SERVER MANAGER as a workstation. We have a buckup tap, so we decided to reinstall NT server and try to retrieve the exchange data. How can we restore exchange priv.edb and pup.edu to a different sever?

Answer:
Your best bet is to reinstall the NT server just as it was before—same name and configuration. Then you should be able to restore the tape to that server without difficulty.
