Email Address Confirmation Issues:
Q.
My new subscription requires an email address confirmation, but I still haven't received a confirmation email.
A.
The confirmation email was generated automatically when you subscribed to our publication. It was sent to the email address you provided on your registration form. Please check that email account and make sure the email didn't end up in a spam folder (keep your eye out for an email from Internet.com Registration).
Q.
I checked my spam/junk mail and I still don't see my
confirmation email.
A. Resetting your Internet.com password is an alternate way of confirming your email address, so please visit http://member.internet.com
and click on the "Forgot Password?" link (underneath the login section), where you'll be prompted to enter your email address. A password reset email will then be sent to your inbox. Once you reset your password, your email address will be confirmed.
If you are unable to confirm your email address by changing your password, please send an email to membersupport@internet.com
and let us know that you are unable to confirm your email address. We will be happy to confirm your email address from our end.
Q.
I received my confirmation email, but the "Confirm Email Address"
link is broken/doesn't work/doesn't appear.
A.
Please send an email to membersupport@internet.com
and let us know that you are unable to confirm your email address. We will be happy to confirm your email address from our end.
Q.
I clicked on the "Confirm Email Address" link in my confirmation email and received an error message, so I don't think the confirmation worked.
A.
Please send an email to membersupport@internet.com
and let us know that the email confirmation failed. We will be happy to confirm your email address from our end.
Login/Password
Issues:
Q.
I'm trying to log in, but my username and password are not
accepted. I receive a "Does not exist in database" error
message. How can this be when I just registered?
A.
Although uncommon, it's possible that your registration data
was not saved properly. Please send an email to
membersupport@internet.com
and we will be able to determine if you are listed as a registrant
and go from there.
Q.
My password is not accepted/I can't reset my password.
A.
Please note that passwords must be 6 to 20 characters long and are
case sensitive. You may include the letters A through Z, the numbers
0 to 9, underscores (_) and a single dot/period (.) If you continue
to have problems with your password, please contact
membersupport@internet.com.
Q.
I already have a WinDrivers username and password. Can log into Internet.com using this information?
A.
Yes, if you already have a WinDrivers username and password you can continue to use the same login information.
General
Registration Questions:
Q.
What am I registering for?
A.
You are registering to become an Internet.com member. Membership provides access to content on the Internet.com, EarthWeb and DevX networks as well as unlimited access to WinDrivers. Please see http://www.devx.com/WhyJoin
for further details and benefits of the membership.
Q.
Will I have to register every time I want to download or view content
from your sites?
A.
No, this is a one-time registration process and the registration takes just a couple of minutes. Once you've registered, you will be able to login to our sites at any time, using just a username and password. From there, you can download or view all the content you'd like!
Q.
I'm not sure I want to become a member. Can't I just
download a whitepaper without first becoming a member?
A.
No, you'll have to register in order to access our content. But
please be aware that we've implemented this membership process
(a single sign-on system) so that our valued customers can easily log
into our sites and access content without having to fill out
so many forms like you've done in the past. We created this new single sign-on system to make our content more accessible to you.
Q.
You already send me Tech Alerts via email, so it's obvious that
you have my contact information. Why do I still have to register?
A.
If we already email you, then you're an existing customer who
has filled out forms in the past to gain access to our content. But
it's to your advantage to create a new membership account with
us. Once you do, you'll no longer have to provide your profile
information each time you want to view or download our content. All
you'll need to do is login!
Q.
I've already got a DevX membership. Why do I have to join
Internet.com?
A.
Thank you for being a DevX customer! Please note that your DevX
account and history will not change with our new Internet.com
membership. We apologize that the memberships aren't better
integrated, but we're getting there. The new Internet.com
membership allows you to gain access to content on Internet.com and
Earthweb, as well as on DevX, so you'll be able to expand your
horizons while still enjoying the benefits of your DevX account.
Newsletters/Projects & Special Offers:
Q.
I stopped receiving some of the newsletters I was previously
subscribed to. What happened?
A.
As we move all our newsletters to the new system, there's a
chance of minor delay. Please check the "Manage My Account"
page in our global toolbar (you'll need to log in first) and
click on the Newsletter button to check your subscriptions. If you
have any problems, please contact membersupport@internet.com.
Q.
I want to unsubscribe to one of my existing newsletters or subscribe
to a new newsletter.
A.
Go to the Manage My Profile page (directly underneath the red LogIn
button on the http://www.internet.com
toolbar) and click on the "My Newsletters" link. Just
check the newsletters you want, or uncheck the newsletters you don't
want and hit the "Submit" button.
Updating
Your Account:
Q.
I want to update my profile information because I have a new address,
phone number, email address, etc.
A.
Please visit the "Manage My Profile page (directly underneath
the red LogIn button on the http://www.internet.com
toolbar) to modify your existing profile data. There are separate
links for updating your email or password. Other profile data can be
modified directly on the page. Once you submit the new data by
clicking on the "Update" button, your account will be
updated.
Cancellation:
Q.
I want to cancel my registration. Will you please take me out of your
system?
A.
Certainly, although we're sorry to see you go. Please send an
email to membersupport@internet.com
and indicate that you'd like to cancel your membership. We'll
take care of it.
