Positioning two tables side-by-side usually involves three tables, not two.
There will be a “parent” table that has one row and two columns. A second and third table will be inserted into the two columns of the “parent” table. To hide the fact that a “parent” table is used, set the “border” parameter on the parent table to 0 (zero). The following HTML will accomplish this:
