NVIDIA showcased its software platforms at its AI Summit in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday. The company’s software is being used by organizations like AT&T, Deloitte, and the University of Florida for various purposes. Bob Pette, NVIDIA’s vice president of Enterprise Platforms, detailed the company’s software offerings.

He emphasized their importance as a revenue stream beyond hardware sales. NVIDIA’s software portfolio includes NIM Agent Blueprints, NIM, and NeMo. NIM Agent Blueprints helps develop generative AI applications.

NIM allows for quick assembly of chatbots and AI assistants. NeMo enables companies to craft custom generative AI models. AT&T is working on a conversational AI platform with Quantiphi.

The platform will assist employees with software development and financial services tasks. The University of Florida is using NIM and NeMo to improve its learning management system. Deloitte integrates NIM Agent Blueprint with its cybersecurity products.

NVIDIA’s expanding software strategy

NVIDIA has also partnered with Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh. They established two AI centers as part of the new AI Tech Community initiative.

The center at Carnegie Mellon focuses on robotics, autonomy, and AI. The center at the University of Pittsburgh revolves around AI in health sciences. Highlighting its software initiatives is part of NVIDIA’s strategy.

The company aims to maintain customer loyalty and generate recurring revenue streams. As competition from AMD and Intel intensifies, NVIDIA wants to solidify its position. It is showcasing that it is more than just a chip manufacturer.

NVIDIA’s longstanding investment in AI technology and its software offerings suggest its leadership in AI is secure. The move to emphasize software aims to attract developers and companies to its platforms. NVIDIA’s stock has surged in recent years due to its advances in AI technology.

To sustain this growth, NVIDIA’s focus on software will play a crucial role. It will help counteract potential challenges from customers developing their own AI chips.
