Microsoft’s PowerApps code-free app-writing service is now available as a public beta, having completed a private beta trial period. PowerApps makes it possible for non-developers to create data-driven apps that run on iOS, Android or the Web without having to write any code. The apps can draw data from many different cloud computing services and enterprise applications, including Dropbox, OneDrive, Dynamics CRM and SharePoint Online.
Analysts note that PowerApps provides development functionality that is very similar to what is in Microsoft Access, except that Access doesn’t enable mobile development the way that PowerApps does.
