Fitbit app redesign modernizes device settings

The Fitbit app has undergone a redesign of its device settings page for smartwatches and trackers. This update applies to Fitbit OS-powered devices and begins with a large preview of your device and current watch face. Below the preview, you’ll find the connection status, battery level, and last sync information.

The sync now button has been moved to the top-right corner. The previous interface, which featured prominent tiles for different features, had been in place for years. The new design introduces a row of cards for Watch Faces, Apps, and Tiles, similar to the user interface found in Wear OS.

Tapping on these cards takes users to the same management interface as before.

Fitbit app device settings updated

The “Settings” list on a Fitbit Sense 2 includes menus for notifications, device preferences, wallet and maps, Fitbit reminders and alerts, tips and support, software updates and disconnect, and smart features like Amazon Alexa and on-wrist calls.

The user interface for Fitbit trackers is similar, with this device settings redesign rolling out in recent weeks. Over the past year, Fitbit has been upgrading the Android and iOS app page-by-page. Health stats, except for food logging, have been updated with a modern layout and charts, and app settings were also refreshed.

Google has already previewed one part of the upcoming update of the Fitbit app for Android, which is expected to introduce a dark theme. The modernization of the Fitbit app continues as the company works to provide users with a more streamlined and intuitive experience. These updates demonstrate Fitbit’s commitment to improving its products and services for its customers.
