Amazon Web Services (AWS) has launched a new feature that will notify customers of its cloud computing services when their usage exceeds certain levels. AWS already offered CloudWatch, a dashboard that allowed customers to track their bills, but now the service will also send out alerts when those bills reach certain thresholds defined by the customer.
“You can start by using the billing alerts to let you know when your AWS bill will be higher than expected,” explained AWS. “For example, you can set up an alert to make sure that your AWS usage remains within the free usage tier or to find out when you are approaching a budget limit.”
