Google has revamped the Apps Marketplace for its Google Apps cloud computing platform with a host of new features aimed to please enterprise users. Those features include better OAuth 2.0 security, enhanced controls for network administrators and deeper integration with Google Drive, Google+ and Hangouts.
The goal of the update is to making the service more appealing to both enterprises and developers, which in turn will make Google’s cloud more competitive with Amazon and Salesforce. “The bigger implication is that the new Apps Marketplace will give B2B apps the same visibility as those on the web store,” said one Google partner. “Google wants to show that B2B is as important to it as B2C. If they can show value and it will mean more users and more partners.”
