Samsung has introduced a new feature called Energy Score, which provides users with an AI-powered assessment of their physical energy levels. The feature analyzes data in four categories: Sleep, Activity, Sleeping Heart Rate, and Sleeping Heart Rate Variability. It then offers personalized recommendations to help boost energy levels.
However, not all Galaxy Watch models will support the Energy Score feature. It will be available on Samsung’s latest watches, such as the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7, but older models, like the Galaxy Watch 3, launched before 2021, will not be compatible with the upgrade. To access the Energy Score feature, users must own a compatible Galaxy Watch, have a Samsung smartphone equipped with Galaxy AI capabilities, the Samsung Health app, and a Samsung account.
The Energy Score is designed to provide users with a deeper understanding of their physical and mental states. By analyzing various data inputs, the Galaxy Watch will offer personalized feedback to help users manage their energy levels more effectively.
Introducing Energy Score for health
Samsung and the University of Georgia (UGA) have collaborated to introduce the personalized Energy Score. The initiative aims to help users better understand their energy levels and the factors that influence them. The newly launched Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra, Galaxy Watch 7, and Galaxy Ring feature the Energy Score capability.
Additionally, the Galaxy Watch FE, Galaxy Watch 6, and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic also support Energy Score. To use Energy Score, you need to synchronize your wearable with tracked health data from the free Samsung Health app, which does not require a subscription. Previous activity, sleep, and heart rate data must be tracked to generate an accurate Energy Score.
The feature, alongside Wellness Tips, will be available on Android smartphones running Android 11 or above and version 6.27 or above of the Samsung Health app. This new feature promises to help users better understand and optimize their daily routines based on their physical health and activity levels.
