Lenovo is set to release its highly anticipated 10th-generation Legion 9i gaming laptop. Scheduled to arrive in China soon and North America this fall, the 18-inch behemoth promises to deliver top-end specs and innovative features sure to excite gamers and professionals alike. The Legion 9i will be available with a 4K-capable 2D/3D screen, making it one of the most versatile displays on the market.
Powered by an Nvidia RTX 5090 GPU and an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX CPU, it offers up to an astounding 192GB of RAM and 8TB of SSD storage. Lenovo has yet to disclose pricing details, but given the advanced specs and the high-quality materials used, it is expected to be on the higher end of the price spectrum. For those who enjoy customizing their setups, the laptop’s four RAM slots and four SSD slots are user-accessible, allowing for extensive upgrades.
One of the standout features is the optional 2D/3D LCD, which can switch between a 3840 x 2400 resolution at 240Hz in 2D mode and 1920 x 1200 in 3D mode.
Gaming laptop features unveiled
The display employs eye-tracking and a lenticular lens array, allowing users to view 3D content without needing special glasses.
This makes it ideal for game developers, visual artists, and 3D professionals. Lenovo’s software currently supports 30 games in 3D mode, including popular titles like “Cyberpunk 2077,” “Black Myth: Wukong,” “Forza Horizon 5,” “Genshin Impact,” and “God of War Ragnarök.”
Designed as a desktop replacement, the Legion 9i is equipped with a plethora of ports: two Thunderbolt 5 ports, four USB 3.2 Gen 2 (three Type-A and one Type-C), an ethernet port, HDMI 2.1, and a full-size SD card slot. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 support.
The laptop also features a 5-megapixel webcam, with the 3D screen version boasting a faster f/1.6 lens, and both options include a kill switch for privacy. Another notable feature is the Legion 9i’s carbon fiber lid, made from eight layers of carbon fiber, which Lenovo claims makes it “lighter and stronger than aluminum.” Each lid sports a unique pattern, making every unit distinct. This unique design element, combined with RGB lighting and a user-friendly build, positions the Legion 9i as one of the most intriguing gaming laptops slated for release this year.
While pricing remains a mystery, the Legion 9i’s blend of high-end specs, innovative display technology, and unique design is sure to capture the interest of high-end gamers and creative professionals.
