Lucid Motors has released a major software update, Lucid UX 2.4, for its electric vehicles. The update brings a range of new features and improvements to enhance the driving experience and safety. One of the key additions is the 3D lane visualization.

This feature provides a detailed 3D view of the surrounding lanes on the highway, displayed on the center screen. It uses the vehicle’s on-board sensors to create this visualization, improving highway navigation and setting the stage for future functionality. The update also introduces turn-by-turn navigation integrated with Apple CarPlay.

Drivers can now see detailed driving instructions through the Apple CarPlay interface, making navigation more convenient. Lucid has replaced the Alexa voice assistant with its own Lucid Assistant. This new voice control system can be activated by saying “Hey Lucid” or pressing the microphone button on the steering wheel.

It allows drivers to control navigation, audio, climate, and seats hands-free. The DreamDrive Pro Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) has received several enhancements.

Highway Assist now uses high-definition maps to display HOV lanes, exits, and lane merges, and is functional on curves. Driver-Initiated Lane Change Assist enables lane changes by holding the turn signal. Extended Stop and Go resumes vehicle movement after long stops in heavy traffic while ensuring the driver is attentive.

Other improvements include adaptive cruise control with automatic curve speed control and additional safety features such as Park Distance Warning, Surround View Monitoring, and Rear View Monitoring. The Lucid Mobile App has also been optimized for better responsiveness and quicker vehicle connection. Dr.

Jean-Philippe Gauthier, Lucid’s Head of Software Engineering, said, “Lucid UX 2.4 introduces an array of new features and improvements to make every trip more satisfying. This release also marks the transition of DreamDrive Pro Highway Assist features to our in-house Lucid software stack, paving the way for further continuous improvements.”

The update is available today in North America via an over-the-air (OTA) update. Owners will receive notifications in their vehicles and the Lucid app when the new software version is ready to be downloaded.

Lucid Motors continues to invest in software updates to remain competitive in the shifting automotive industry. CEO Peter Rawlinson asserts that the company is ahead of the competition, with the Lucid Air being the most energy-efficient vehicle on the market.
