Chef and Microsoft have announced plans to work together on new automation features for Microsoft Azure, Visual Studio and Windows PowerShell DSC. In addition, Chef will provide DevOps training for Microsoft’s sales team.
“IT is shifting from being an infrastructure provider to becoming the innovation engine for the new software economy,” said Chef CEO Barry Crist. “Key elements of the new, high-velocity IT include automation, cloud and DevOps. Our partnership with Microsoft is about bringing these elements to enterprises in all industries and geographies.”
The two companies have already been working together on integrating Chef into the Azure cloud computing service for more than a year.
