Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang to unveil new AI chips at GTC

Nvidia’s annual developer conference, known as GTC, has kicked off in San Jose, California, and is expected to draw more than 25,000 attendees. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang will deliver a keynote address.

Investors are eagerly anticipating updates on the company’s latest advancements in chip technology, gaming, and robotics. Industry analysts expect Nvidia to showcase its Blackwell Ultra GB300 family of chips. These chips are projected to offer over 50% more memory capacity and significantly higher performance than earlier models.

Additionally, details on Nvidia’s next generation of Rubin semiconductors may be revealed. The Rubin line is expected to debut in 2026, alongside the associated Vera CPU and the Rubin Vera platform. Huang previously teased more about Blackwell Ultra and Vera Rubin at the company’s post-earnings call on February 26.

“Come to GTC, and I’ll talk to you about Blackwell Ultra, Vera Rubin, and then show you what’s next,” Huang told analysts.

Nvidia’s Blackwell products generated substantial revenue, and the company hopes to overcome challenges in scaling current-generation systems to streamline the production of Blackwell Ultra.

The transition from Hopper to Blackwell was challenging due to changes in the system’s architecture and hardware,” Huang said during the post-earnings call. “This time, the system architecture between Blackwell and Blackwell Ultra remains the same, making the transition smoother.”

Huang confirmed that Nvidia is slated to launch Blackwell Ultra in the second half of this year. Nvidia shares have shown considerable growth, gaining more than 36% over the past 12 months.

However, as of Monday, they had seen a value decline of over 10% through 2025. As the conference progresses, market participants will closely monitor any announcements that could impact Nvidia’s stock performance. In addition to Blackwell Ultra and Vera Rubin, Nvidia is also expected to discuss the company’s simulation technologies and more at GTC.

During last year’s event, Nvidia highlighted its AI workloads, robotics, and more advancements. Stifel analyst Ruben Roy noted, “We expect Mr. Huang to update thoughts on evolving AI workloads and provide incremental commentary on emerging areas of AI development such as Physical AI and Robotics.
