The Oppo Find N5, set to launch in just ten days, is being touted as the world’s thinnest book-style foldable phone. After spending a few minutes with the device, it’s clear that Oppo has made significant strides in reducing the visibility of the display’s crease. While still present, the crease is only noticeable at certain angles and barely perceptible to touch, making for a more seamless viewing experience compared to previous foldable phones.
Despite its slim profile, the Find N5 feels solid and sturdy, not buckling under pressure and seeming durable. It will be available in black and white models, with a purple vegan leather edition exclusive to China. The device runs on Oppo’s ColorOS Android skin, bringing advanced multitasking features that have been well-received in earlier models.

Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, the Find N5 includes a full array of IPX6, IPX8, and IPX9 water-resistance certifications and supports both wireless and wired charging. While launching internationally next week, it won’t be available in the US. However, speculation suggests that a version of the Find N5, possibly with a OnePlus logo, will eventually be released in American markets.

Teased Oppo Find N5 highlights thinness
The foldable phone market has seen substantial innovations over the past few years, with brands like Honor, Google, Xiaomi, and Vivo aiming to challenge Samsung’s dominance. Oppo CEO Pete Lau has been actively teasing the Find N5’s remarkable features on social media, highlighting its unprecedented thinness.
Rumored to be around 4.2mm at its thinnest point when unfolded, the Find N5 is expected to surpass current durability standards and offer a better user experience compared to rivals like the Honor Magic V3, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Beyond durability and thinness, the Oppo Find N5 is anticipated to come with impressive specifications, including a 6.85-inch LTPO display with 2K resolution and a dynamic refresh rate, a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset with 16GB of RAM, a 6,000mAh battery with Silicon Carbon technology and 80W wired charging, and a triple Hasselblad camera setup with a periscope telephoto lens. While the Oppo Find N5 might not launch directly in the US, it is expected to debut as the OnePlus Open 2, bringing formidable competition to established foldables like Samsung’s and Google’s latest offerings.
The Find N5/Open 2 is anticipated to offer better battery life, superior camera performance, faster charging, enhanced durability, and a slightly lower price point, making it an attractive option for consumers. The latest teaser image of the Oppo Find N5 suggests that it might outshine the Galaxy Z Fold 6 due to its nearly invisible crease. The comparison, posted by Oppo’s Chief Product Officer and former OnePlus founder, reveals that the Oppo Find N5 significantly reduces the visibility of the screen crease compared to what is likely the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
The upcoming launch of the Oppo Find N5 could revolutionize the foldable phone market, minimizing the compromises users have had to make and driving further innovation. As we await its release, the anticipation continues to build for what could be the best foldable phone of the year.
