A new survey conducted by Softchoice reports that a majority of enterprises (52 percent) do not have a formal cloud computing strategy. That’s significant because while only 22 percent of companies with a strategy experience cloud project failures, 58 percent of companies without a strategy experienced failures. In addition, 75 percent of companies without strategies find it difficult to find talent with the right cloud computing skills, compared to 41 percent of those with strategies, and 70 percent of firms without strategies had budget overruns, compared to 52 percent of those with strategies.
In addition, the survey found that 48 percent of executives believe they can procure apps faster if they do not work with their IT departments. In addition 61 percent of those surveyed said they were “still experimenting with or making limited use of public cloud.”
