The popular anime series Puella Magi Madoka Magica is expanding its universe with a new free-to-play battle RPG called Puella Magi Madoka Magica Magia Exedra. This game unites beloved characters within an original storyline. Magia Exedra introduces unique concepts and characters designed by Gekidan Inu Curry (Doroinu).
It offers players an immersive dive into the world of Magical Girls and their intertwined memories. Players will unveil the memories of these Magical Girls and step into a realm where their stories illuminate the darkness.
This is centered around The Lighthouse, a sanctuary where the memories of Magical Girls converge. Within this setting, a girl who has lost everything finds herself wandering. This sets the stage for a compelling narrative and action-packed gameplay.
The game vividly recreates scenarios from the acclaimed anime Puella Magi Madoka Magica and the popular mobile game Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story in stunning 3D. Players direct their characters through perilous Witch Labyrinths, where they’ll gather luminous fragments of Magical Girl memories, essential items, and other valuable resources.
These treacherous environments come with unique challenges and intricate stage designs. They are crafted by the enigmatic Witches who preside over each labyrinth.
Magia Exedra gameplay and features
Players can assemble a team of up to five Magical Girls. They can employ command selections to dictate the outcome of each encounter strategically. Magical Girls possess diverse attributes.
This enables the construction of teams tailored to specific combat scenarios. Battles incorporate a “break system.” Exploiting elemental weaknesses allows players to deplete enemy break gauges and inflict supplementary effects. Players can engage in dynamic and strategic battles against formidable Witches and their relentless minions.
Puella Magi Madoka Magica Magia Exedra is released on iOS and Android devices and PCs via Steam. Pre-registering offers exclusive rewards, including Magia Keys, fan kits, 5-star Madoka Kaname, and Magica Stones. The opening animation video produced by Shaft debuted at AnimeJapan 2025.
Yuki Kajiura, renowned for her contributions to the Puella Magi Madoka Magica franchise, has composed and written “Lighthouse,” the theme song for Puella Magi Madoka Magia Exedra. It is performed by FictionJunction featuring LINO LEIA. The game features a stellar voice cast, including Aoi Yuki, Chiwa Saito, Kaori Mizuhashi, Eri Kitamura, Ai Nonaka, Emiri Kato, Momo Asakura, Sora Amamiya, Shiina Natsukawa, Ayane Sakura, Yui Ogura, Manaka Iwami, and other talented voice actors.
