Unnamed sources tell the Wall Street Journal that Google will unveil a new version of Android for TVs at the Google I/O conference May 19 and 20. More than 3,000 developers are expected to attend.
Industry watchers suggest that Google may attempt to woo developers to create new apps for a TV platform, much as companies have raced to build mobile app stores for smartphones. However, few developers are likely to invest time and money into building applications until consumers purchase more hardware that allows TVs to connect to the Internet.
