Microsoft Making ‘First Mover’ Windows Phone 7 App Developers a Priority

Microsoft has announced plans to give access to the Windows Marketplace to a limited number of developers beginning next week. “First movers” who have Windows Phone 7 apps ready need to contact Microsoft before October 6 in order to have their apps listed when Microsoft announces the first Windows Phone 7 handsets on October 11. After that, the company plans to increase the number of apps it accepts gradually until it eventually rolls out all of its self-service features.

However, the company also revealed that even “first movers” won’t begin receiving payment for their apps until February.
