Apple Boasts 2 Billion Reasons for Devs to Stay with IOS

In the middle of the iPad 2 introduction, Steve Jobs revealed an interesting statistic: The company has paid out more than $2 billion to App Store developers since its launch in July 2008. It was just eight months ago when the payout crossed the $1 billion line, indicating that amount of money developers are making is increasing very rapidly.

Not all of that money comes from app downloads. According to research from Distimo, 49 percent of iOS developer revenue comes from in-app purchases.
